For a year we supplied the Belgian French voice for the JYSK campaigns: television spots, radio spots, in-store announcements, social media content. Less regularly, the brand also handed us Switzerland, France and Morocco, always in French voices.
A year on the Belgian market. For a year we supplied the Belgian French voice for the JYSK campaigns produced in Belgium. Television spots, radio, in-store announcements and social media content: four broadcast channels, with the same voice to hold a consistent identity over time.
Three more markets, less regularly. Belgium stayed at the heart of the collaboration. JYSK also handed us several campaigns for Switzerland, France and Morocco, always in French. Four markets in all, but not four times the same French.
French does not sound the same everywhere. Accent is what comes to mind first. The difference goes much further than that. On the same campaign, the Belgian, Swiss, French and Moroccan artists do not record the same scripts despite sharing a language. Every country has its own phrasing, its own turns of phrase, its own expressions. Every market deserves its own cultural adaptation.
A native actor for each country. That is what drove our casting. For each market we worked with a female voice native to the country concerned. A Belgian voice for Belgium, a Swiss voice for Switzerland, and so on. This is not about imitating an accent, it is about finding a natural way of speaking, down to the nuances of the text.
